ACT I, scene 1
ARGAN uses the plastic bed drapes to trap his flatulence, diagnosing the odors like a wine connoisseur. TOINETTE enters in a medical mask, draws the blind, and opens the window, gasping for fresh air.
ACT I, scene 12
ARGAN talks to his sexy wife BELINE about firing TOINETTE, which would require BELINE to work! She suggests this would fatigue her far too much to even find his bedroom anymore. He responds, “But I made you that map.” With two quick claps, arrows and a giant X light up his bed.
ACT II, scene 12
ARGAN believes CLEANTE to be his daughter’s substitute music teacher, but he is actually her secret crush. ARGAN requires them to entertain with a song. CLEANTE attempts to use this as an opportunity to let her know his true feelings for her... despite his poor musical abilities.
ACT II, scene 16
TOINETTE rolls out a hospital dressing screen for ARGAN’s regular 3rd enema of the day with his apothecary, FLEURANT. BELINE with a plot of her own, insists ARGAN does not need the apothecary’s services, enraging FLEURANT. A shadow play of penile humor ensues behind the dressing screen.
ACT II, scene 18
To expose BELINE’s true, gold-digging nature, TOINETTE convinces ARGAN to play dead.
EPILOGUE (Musical)
All ends well, but ARGAN insists on a doctor in the family. TOINETTE suggests ARGAN has enough experience; all it takes is a ritual initia in Latin and a certificate! The bed disappears through the giant padded headboard, all supporting characters don medical scrubs and chant in song and dance.
EPILOGUE Finale
Upon completion of the ritual, the entire cast and audience break out with a highly contagious case of DISCO FEVER.
A NEW TOWN
